Classroom Benefits

This is a great active song to get students up and moving. It's good warm up for starting class or any time sluggish kids need a shot of energy. It also works well as a quick, active transistion between activities. When the song ends, all the students will be on the ground in a circle, so it's a nice song to use before circle time or story time. It also helps young learners practice their coordination.

Caution

Kids can get carried away with this song or any song in which they are running/jumping/marching around the classroom. It's very important to set the tone the first time you use this song. Everybody moves in the same direction. No pushing. Stay in the circle. This is a great opportunity to help children learn to channel their excitement.
