The Eensey Weensey Spider Craft – Fine Motor Skills Craft

The Eensey Weensey Spider - Fine Motor Craft

Act out The Eensey Weensey Spider with this Dramatic Play Set craft. Attach the pieces to clothes pins and a ruler to help kids develop fine motor skills and strengthen their hand muscles as they play along. They will have a great time as they work on the grip that helps when writing!

Our friend Anna shares step-by-step directions to make your own set.

To make this craft, you will need:

Step 1
Cut out the pieces of the Dramatic Play Set. If using the black and white set, color the pieces. Laminate if desired.

Get your equipment together. Cut out the printout pieces.

Step 2
Attach the sun cutout to one side of a clothes pin. Attach the rain cloud cutout to the other side of the same clothes pin.

Attach the sun to a clothes pin. Attach the rain cloud to the other side of the same clothes pin.

Step 3
Attach the Eensey Weensey Spider cutout to the second clothes pin.

Glue the spider to the second clothes pin.

Step 4
Attach the water spout cutout to the ruler or paint stick. (Tip: orient the ruler to the right side of the image, this will make “climbing” easier.)

Attach the ruler (or paint stick) to the back of the water spout.

Step 5
Act out the song or video! Attach the sun to the top of the water spout. Help the spider go up. Flip the sun over to the rain cloud and wash the spider out (go down). Make the sun come out and help the spider go up the spout again.

The sun is out! Help the Eensey Weensey Spider go up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out!
