Twinkle Twinkle iPad/iPhone App Update

Twinkle Twinkle 2.0

Twinkle Twinkle 2.0

We’ve been really happy with the feedback we’ve received on our first iPad/iPhone app, Twinkle Twinkle. Version 1.0 received stellar reviews from Kirkus Reviews, PadGadget.com, Digital Storytime.com, GiggleApps.com and more. And with 98 ratings in the U.S. iTunes store, it has averaged 4.5 out of 5 stars.

But we still wanted to add some things to make it extra special, so we’ve just released Twinkle Twinkle version 2.0. Here’s what to look for:

1) Record Your Own Voice – Now you can choose to record yourself telling the story. Parents can record the story for their children. Kids can record themselves reading the story. Or you can record your own version of the story (use a different language, simplify the story, etc.). This is a really great tool for getting kids excited about reading.

2) New touch animations and sound effects – We’ve added some fun additional effects, while keeping things simple so as not to take away from the story. Touch the moon and watch it glow! Play the “Twinkle twinkle” tune on the star and the moon! Find the shooting stars! Let us know what else you find ^_^.

3) Larger home and page-turning buttons – Thanks to your feedback, we’ve added bigger buttons to make navigation easier.

Let us know what you think! We’d really appreciate it if you’d leave us a review in the iTunes store.

Hope you enjoy it!

P.S.
To Android users: We’re really sorry we don’t have an Android app available yet. It turns out developing for Android, with the multiple platforms, has not been as straightforward as we had hoped. This storybook app is pretty rich in content, involving videos transitions and multiple effects, and it has proven difficult to keep the full functionality in an Android version. Rather than release a watered-down version, we’re still trying to re-create the full experience. We’re sorry to keep you waiting! Thanks for your patience.

I understand that making the app for Android is hard…. I do not have a clue bow any of the apps are made so I am sure that it is a lot of hard work and I do appreciate your efforts. Is there any estimated time frame that an Android app will be available? Can you post the app or at least the equivalent to the app as an online game for children. I would be happy to bring my child to your site and sit.with her while she plays it…. She love baby owl and baby star and no matter how many times she watches it (which is every single night!) She screams out , “They’re friends! They’re friends!” Each and every time! So sweet! Please let me know how things ate going. I would love to hear from you. Also have you thought about manufacturing a plush of the owl and star? Might be a very lucrative venture for you and I know many children would be delighted to get one for Christmas or birthdays! Thank you for your time hope to hear from you soon!

      Hi Casie,
Thanks for your great comments and suggestions!
We are still working on the best method for making an Android app for Twinkle Twinkle. There are definitely many factors involved. Be we will keep everyone updated on our blog with the progress.
We are also looking into plush toys of the owl and star. We know that many kids love these two and would love a toy version. We’ll keep you updated on our progress!

Hello, my one year old son loves the star and would really love a plush toy, is there any more news on availability please?

  • Christine

My little girl would absolutely love a plush toy set of owl and star! Watching her watch the video is absolutely precious. She gets SO excited when they first meet up and their “hands” touch; it makes her squeal and flap her arms up and down…so cute! We love your site, and so does our daughter! Thanks for all you do! Please keep us posted on the plush toys! We will be the first in line to order them! Keep up the great work :)

  • Natasha

Thank you for the Twinkle App. My one and two year-old sons love it so much.My two year old son was recently diagnosed in the autism spectrum but recently, he’s begun to sing. I’ve heard him sing some of the words to “Little Snowflake”. Until now, he had never spoken more than one word at a time so to hear him sing, “Little snowflake, falling…” was a REALLY big deal. I hope, hope, hope you are considering creating an App for Little Snowflake. Please let us know if this is a possibility. Thank you for your great learning content and we look forward to whatever you have to offer in the future.
